The WMMIA Garden was created to introduce our students to the wonders of nature. We have two raised bed areas and a full size professional greenhouse. Hall County Master Gardeners partner with us to teach our students proper planting and harvesting skills as well as introduce our students to life cycle of the monarch butterfly. Our students plant and harvest fruits, vegetables, and herbs that they read about in stories like Peter Rabbit, Growing Vegetable Soup, and Jack and the Beanstalk. We have an herb garden, succulent garden, pollinator/sensory garden, and vegetable garden, Our students learn about sustainable gardening practices through our Huglekultur raised beds, rain barrel collection and watering system, and composting program. Our older students take on bigger school improvement projects such as beautifying our car rider area and building a reading patio that includes a paver patio, picnic table, dry creek bed, solar fountain, and our Little Free Library.
